Offering high power density and high surge handling in a flat-sided ceramic package, PPS-1 Series PowerPack surface-mount resistors are capable of dissipating 1W at 70° C in a standard 2010 footprint. The devices are recommended for applications where board space or component-to-board thermal coefficient of expansion (TCE) mismatch is a major concern. Constructed with firm's well-established metal glaze technology, the series is said to demonstrate an excellent temperature rise profile. Compared with standard 1W SMT resistors, the PPS-1 Series is designed to reduce stress on the resistor circuit board that accompanies thermal expansion with standard parts. Available range is 0.1 ohms to 1 Megaohm in tolerances of ±0.25%, 0.5%, 1%, 2% and 5%. Standard TCR is 50 ppm/°C over the operating temperature range of -55°C to 150°C.
