Designed to maximize high-speed signal integrity and targeted at high-pin-count applications in communications, instrumentation and other high tech markets, the MMA stacking connectors support system bandwidths in excess of 5 GHz. The SMT board stacking connectors have dual active cantilever spring contacts that are said to deliver lower insertion/withdrawal forces without jeopardizing normal forces needed for reliable connections. And a hermaphroditic design with a symmetrical insulator allows the connectors to mate with themselves, reducing costs, inventory and pc board real estate requirements. The 10 x 10 interconnects attach to boards via solder balls. For more details, call TomAnderson at AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 946-0351.
