Switch/Driver Operates From DC To 6 GHz

Nov. 1, 2000
The AS196-307 GaAs switch with driver operates over the DC to 6 GHz band, making it ideal for GSM, DCS, and PCS base station synthesizer switching with 55 to 60 dB isolation from 0.5 to 2.5 GHz. Manufactured in a miniature exposed pad LPCC 4 mm x 4

The AS196-307 GaAs switch with driver operates over the DC to 6 GHz band, making it ideal for GSM, DCS, and PCS base station synthesizer switching with 55 to 60 dB isolation from 0.5 to 2.5 GHz. Manufactured in a miniature exposed pad LPCC 4 mm x 4 mm package, the switch offers 3- or 5-V control with an integrated silicon driver.
This is said to simplify the pc board layout complexity by reducing the number of control lines. According to the company, one of the key benefits to this integrated switch is its high isolation, which allows the manufacturer to use less parts without sacrificing performance. In addition, the device incorporates a leadless plastic chip carrier (LPCC) exposed pad package. Typical Isolation of 55, 45 and 32 dB can be expected at these frequencies. Pricing is $3.54 each/50,000.
