Promising maximum I/O functionality, the V7768 and V7769 VME-bus single-board computers enlist Intel's 2.16-GHz Core 2 Duo processors and Mobile 945GME Express chipsets. The V7768 resides in a single VME slot and the V7769 supports dual SAS and up to three PCI-X PMCs in a dual-slot configuration. The single-slot V7768 offers expansion options via a PMC237 mezzanine board to provide legacy PMC functionality. Both boards provide a software-compatible upgrade path for earlier VME64 platforms and are the company's first SBCs to pair dual-core architectures with the Universe II PCI-to-VME bridge from Tundra Semiconductor. Other features include up to 2 GB of DDR2 SDRAM, two Gigabit Ethernet ports via the front panel, two SATA ports, two serial ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and PS/2 mouse/keyboard ports. Operating-system support includes Windows XP/Vista, VxWorks, and Linux. GE FANUC INTELLIGENT PLATFORMS, Charlottesville, VA. (434) 978-5000.
