undled in the companyÕs iChip Internet controller chip is an embedded web server that is said to simplify Internet device management to the point where even someone who is not an Internet programmer can use it to control the deviceÑthe iChip controller is a peripheral chip that enables Internet connectivity for devices via dial-up modems, LANs and wireless modems. Customers can evaluate the Web server in the companyÕs iModem, a stand-alone, dial-up Internet modem, and iLAN, a stand-alone serial-to-LAN Internet protocol converter that connects any device via its serial port to a 10 BaseT Ethernet LAN. The server is being bundled with the iChip, which is priced at $20 each/10,000. iLAN is available for evaluating iChip LAN firmware and costs $295 and iModem is available for evaluating iChip dial-up firmware. A serial-to-serial evaluation board is available for evaluating the iChip version for GSM and CDMA wireless modems. Both units cost $270.
