44 GHz MMW Amplifier Withstands Extreme Conditions

Oct. 10, 2013
44 GHz MMW amplifier offers high efficiency and extreme stability with 13 dB of return loss, while generating 30 dB of gain and +17 dBm of output power off a +15 V supply.

API’s new standard 44 GHz MMW amplifier, the BXHF1075, features an ultra-high frequency, two-stage design for high gain and medium power, and is enclosed in a rugged laser welded SMA-connectorized housing. The amplifier offers high efficiency and extreme stability with 13 dB of return loss, while generating 30 dB of gain and +17 dBm of output power off a +15 V supply. It also incorporates an internal voltage regulator to accommodate either +12 V or +15 V. The amplifier exhibits solid performance from a -40°C to +85°C temperature range and with its hermetic seal laser welded package, it is able to withstand the most extreme environmental conditions, and is configurable for most military airborne and ground based applications. With field replaceable 2.4 mm connectors, the amplifier can be used as either a modular or customer specific solution, or with a standard connector interface, and is ideally suited for demanding military requirements and high-end commercial applications such as microwave synthesizers, receivers, millimeter-wave telemetry systems, uplink and military communication platforms and instrumentation.
