Printed ink antenna coils for use in fabrication of contactless smart cards, these antennas are designed for flip-chip applications using the firm's proprietary process for integration of the MIFARE chip to the antenna. The silver filled, conductive ink used for printing the antennas is the EPO-TEK EE162-5, a highly conductive, non-solvent containing paste formulated for high resolution screen printing of coil antennas. The printed antenna MIFARE inlet has a reading distance that is comparable to that of etched or Cu wound antennas but lower in cost. Available reading distances with four, five or six turns, respectively, are 8 to 8 cm, 9 to 10 cm or 12 to 13 cm.
