Exploiting the company’s InGaP heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) technology, the RMPA1959 linear, RF power amplifier module for CDMA and CDMA2000-1X personal communication system (PCS) applications boasts of low power consumption and reliable linearity. The module employs a single, positive-voltage supply and exhibits a CDMA efficiency of 39% at an average output power of +28 dBm. Measuring 4 mm x 4 mm, the two-stage power amplifier internally matches both the input and output to 50Ω, an approach said to minimize external components. Other features include high- and low-power modes to reduce current consumption during peak phone usage. Price is $1.07 each/100,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, South Portland, ME. (800) 341-0392.
