The MSM3000 chipset and high-speed package data (HSPD) software now supports 64 kbps wireless Internet access service in data enabled handsets. The chipset and system software support IS-95B mobile protocol revision four, featuring data rates of up to 86.4 kbps. This provides wireless handset manufacturers and network operators the ability to deliver high-speed Internet access anywhere. Version 4.0 of the MSM3000 system software includes features such as voice enhancements, improved handoff, call setup, roaming indication, incoming call forwarding, neighbor searching and pilot reporting. The solution includes a full interoperability specification for infrastructure requirements and provides complete training and technical support to ensure manufacturers can quickly add high-speed packet data to their existing MSM3000-based handsets without requiring any new or additional hardware.
