Packaged in a 44-pin QFP for ease of integration into portable devices, the KL5KUSB116 USB-to-serial controller enable designers to incorporate the universal serial bus (USB) in portable devices with serial interfaces. The controller measures only 7 mm x 7 mm and incorporates a 1.0- and 1.1-compliant USB transceiver engine, standard serial port engine, and a 16-bit RISC CPU with internal RAM and ROM.
Other features include transfer rates up to 238 kb/s, a 128-byte FIFO, I2C interface, a 1.5K x 16 internal RAM buffer, and a debug UART for debug and code development. Price is $7.23 each/1,000.
