Designed for the receive section of dual-mode CDMA/FM cell phones, the RF2456 down-converter IC provides 15 dB of conversion gain and features a power-down mode and digital control of IF output selection. Noise figure, IP3 and other specs are designed for compatibility with the IS-95 Interim Standard for CDMA cellular communications. The IC has an operating range of 500 MHz to 1100 MHz. Applications for the SSOP-16 device include CDMA/FM cellular systems, portable battery-powered equipment and general-purpose down conversion.
