Employing multi-die hybrid technology to integrate a dual optical transceiver into a package standing just 19.1 mm high, the D21 stackable, small form factor optical transceivers are for Gb Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications, The transceivers comply with IEEE 802.3z and ANSI X3.297 requirements and have low jitter levels over the full Bellcore and Telcordia temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. This feature makes the transceivers suitable for use in harsh indoor and outdoor environments. Models are available with 850 nm VCSELs for multimode fiber-optic applications with link distances up to 550 m. Depending on the model, typical pricing ranges from $60 to $85 per port.
