Designed to enable broadband connectivity in mobile communications terminals using WiMAX, the AD9354 and AD9355 RF-to-digital baseband transceivers are said to consume less power than comparable devices in their class and are available in a 20% smaller package. Both integrate two direct-conversion receivers that provide support for MIMO technology and operate in the 2.3 to 2.7 GHz and the 3.3 to 3.7 GHz ranges. They support channel bandwidths of 3.5, 4.375, 5, 7, 8.75 and 10 MHz and specify a noise figure of 3.25 dB. A smart partitioning architecture enables autonomous AGC, transmit-power control, and calibration routines that reportedly reduce RF-driver development efforts. Available in 64-lead, 8 mm x 8 mm LFCSP, the devices are priced at $11.45 each in sample volumes. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
