TI Delivers Industry’s Smallest GbE SerDes

Heralded as the smallest, low-power single-channel Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) serializer/deserializer (SerDes) device on the market, the TLK1221 comes in a 40-pin, lead-free QFN package measuring 6 mm x 6 mm and specifies a power consumption of 200 mW.

Heralded as the smallest, low-power single-channel Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) serializer/deserializer (SerDes) device on the market, the TLK1221 comes in a 40-pin, lead-free QFN package measuring 6 mm x 6 mm and specifies a power consumption of 200 mW. The device supports full-duplex, point-to-point data transmissions at data rates from 600 Mb/s to 1.3 Gb/s. For further space savings, the device eliminates the need for external filter capacitors. Other features include support for a 10-bit interface, an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, integrated testability, 2.5V operation, 3.3V tolerance on LVTTL inputs, and hot-plug protection.
