Targeting machine-to-machine (M2M) designs from vending and cold-chain telemetry to traffic congestion monitoring systems, the CMX990 debuts as an advanced single-chip RF transceiver with an integrated GMSK data modem. The half-duplex IC provides the baseband modem, IF and RF processing functions, programmable synthesizers, signal-level setting functions, plus comprehensive on-chip and peripheral control, monitoring, and interfacing. Data range is 4 Kb/s to 16 Kb/s with selectable BT values at RF frequencies from 400 MHz to 1 GHz. The device is configurable to both free-format and packet-data schemes and can be set to comply with EN 300 113 and FCC CFR 47 Part 90 standards. Operating across a temperature range of –40°C to +85°C and available in a 64-pin VQFN package, price is $10.83 each with no minimum order quantity. CML MICROCIRCUITS INC., Winston-Salem, NC.
