Said to be ideal for handheld devices, such as cell phones and PDAs, the MAX3341E is a USB level translator with ±15 kV ESD protection. The device generates a 3.3V supply for USB signaling and provides 15 mA to power external devices. It features a 50 µA low-power suspend mode and a USB-detect output to signal the microprocessor that a host has been connected. The device supports USB 1.1 and 2.0 operation up to 12 Mb/s and includes an internal 1.5 kilohms pull-up resistor to select operation mode. Other features include an enumerate function to allow reallocation of USB bandwidth without removing cycling power.
