A new ruggedized air filter has been designed for use in above ground electronics and electrical cabinets, including those used for such applications as wire-line, wireless and CATV communications networks. The Quadrafoam II outdoor cabinet air filter complies with applicable requirements of Telcordia GR-487-CORE for flame resistance, fungus resistance, and corrosion resistance. It meets the stringent flame retardancy requirements of UL 94 with a zero fungus growth rating. Aluminum components can be treated with special chromate or irridite finishes to provide corrosion protection. Products configured with Quadrafoam II air filters have been environmentally tested to withstand dust intrusion and wind driven rain as detailed in GR-487-CORE.
