Scheduled for completion in the first half of 2009, the company’s quartz crystal atmospheric pressure sensor employs an original pressure-sensing structure using its QMEMS technology. The component has a cubic volume of 12.5 cc, weighs 15g, and is accurate to within ±10 Pa, or about 1/10,000 of one bar. Additionally, it specifies a resolution of 0.1 Pa. Target applications include barometric pressure in meteorological observations, measuring differences in elevation using barometric pressure, and detecting slight changes in internal pressure resulting from the opening and closing of doors and windows.
