Announced as the smallest to date, the T5000 barometric-pressure sensor measures 1.7 mm x 1.7 mm x 0.9 mm³, which is allegedly many times smaller than comparable components. The sensor comes in a chip-size MEMS package and performs absolute pressure measurement from 300 to 1,200 mbar and covers a measurement range of 20 mV/V/bar. The heart of the component is a piezo-resistive MEMS sensor chip manufactured by Aktiv Sensor. Samples of the T5000 are available now.
