The elastomer-based ET 3300 socket system handles up to 10-GHz bandwidth with a -1 dB insertion loss. The system allows users to test or debug any BGA, QFN, or other custom package, covering all lead pitches down to 0.1 mm. The sockets come in compression-mount, surface-mount, and through-hole versions and offer interchangeable screw and knob retention systems. A self inductance of less than 1 nH ensures optimum signal integrity. The device requires minimum real estate on each side of the chip package. Typical applications include development, debug, hand test, programming, ASIC and FPGA test, package and chip qualification, production prototyping, failure analysis, and high-volume production use. The ET 3300 compression-mount socket with Easy Screw retention system for a 0.8-mm pitch and 256 pins starts at $306. Delivery is in three to four weeks and ASAP Rush Service is quoted on every order. EMULATION TECHNOLOGY INC., Camarillo, CA. (805) 383-8490.
