The company's new electro-optical packages and TO-type photocell caps use a newly developed brazing technology in which the sapphire window is brazed into the outer shell. The high-temperature brazing process provides a hermetic seal that is claimed to be of extraordinary strength. The devices are available in a variety of sizes and weld configurations. Applications for these devices include laser systems, sensors and other opto-electronic devices where operating requirements call for a wider light frequency transmission characteristic then can be obtained from glass or quartz.
