The price/performance level of piezoelectric and bulk micromachined accelerometers is said to be greatly exceeded by a new monolithic, single-axis, analog-output device. By outperforming these other devices and costing up to 100 times less, ADXL105 chip accelerometer is expected to gain wide acceptance for measuring shock, vibration and tilt in industrial, automotive and military applications. ADXL105 offers a frequency response to 10 kHz, an amplitude response that is flat to within 1% from dc to 5 kHz, and low power (1.8 mA at 5V), low-voltage (to 2.7V) operation.
