Compatible with both MT ferrule and 1.25 mm ceramic ferrule technology, the HD-Optyx optical connector exploits a unique modular architecture that facilitates efficient layouts for rapid scaling to changing design requirements. Standard components can be assembled into custom configurations with no retooling required. Users have the options of 1.25 mm for system compatibility or MT for density, or they can use both in same system. The connector features a plug design that both holds and protects the ferrules from handling-related damage. Other features include a shutter with doors on both the daughter card and backplane side of the interconnect to address laser safety concerns while minimizing possible fiber contamination.
