A new crystal clock oscillator has been designed in a low profile ceramic package for miniature portable electronics. The K30 surface-mount clock oscillator is designed to give users more flexibility in implementing timing control circuits in space-constrained applications. Measuring 5.0 x 3.2 x 1.0 mm, the K30 is useful for applications such as PDAs, notebook PCs, routers, switches, 802.11 wireless networking systems, digital cameras, and other portable electronics. Operating voltages are 3.3V for the K30-3C and 5.0V for the K30-HC. Frequency ranges from 8 MHz to 67 MHz, with stability to ±25 ppm. Maximum current consumption is 25 mA at 67 MHz, with standby current at 10 µA. Standard operating temperatures range from -10°C to +70°C and industrial from -40°C to +85°C. The ±25 ppm stability comes only with the non-industrial grade. Pricing is less than $1.20 each/5K. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 946-0414.
