Claimed as being double the current handling capability of similar components, the RACON series PCB-mount switches are rated for 100 mA and specify an operating life of one-million activations at full load. The RACON 8 and 12 key switches mount individually in rows or arrays and can be used under an overlay with a plunger. Measuring 8.4 mm x 8.4 mm x 5 mm, the RACON 8 components exhibit an operating force of 2.5N, switch travel of 0.6 mm, and can withstand an actuation force up to 100N. For larger targets, the RACON 12 switches measure 12-mm square and have an operating force of 3.5N with a travel of 0.8 mm. Price for either series is $0.53 for a surface-mount version and $0.48 each in a through-hole version, each/10,000. ITT INDUSTRIES INC., Newton, MA. (617) 969-3700.
