A new position transducer, designed with a standard M12 connector, combines linearity to ±0.05% with resolution greater than 0.01 mm. The LWG Series of potentiometric transducers has a backlash-free pivot head suited for the free movement required in mechanical, automotive, and robotic applications. Other features of the transducer include: a heavy anodized aluminum housing; stainless steel rotatable actuator with what is claimed as a highly effective seal; precious metal multi-finger, elastomer dampened wipers; standard lengths to 750 mm; and an operating life of up to 50 million movements. The LWG also meets protection class IP65. NOVOTECHNIK U.S. INC., Southborough, MA. (508) 485-2244.
