Promising to extend battery life in portable apps, the SiT800x family of programmable oscillators lay claim to delivering the industry’s lowest power consumption and fastest start-up time. The oscillator packages sport standard footprints, making them viable as drop-in replacements for quartz devices. The family includes the SiT8003 low-power oscillator, SiT8003XT measuring 0.25-mm thick, and the SiT8033 dual-frequency oscillator. Each specifies a power consumption in active and standby modes of less than 3.5 mA and 10 ?A, respectively, and a start-up time of less than 3 ms. To enable customization, they are programmable to operate at 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V, or 3.3V and at frequencies from 1 MHz to 110 MHz. The trio will be available for sampling in mid-February and production quantities will be available in late March. SITIME CORP., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 328-4400.
