The non-contacting, 6 mm x 17 mm x 18 mm MTS 360 SMD rotary position sensor combines a through-shaft design with 360º absolute position feedback.

The non-contacting, 6 mm x 17 mm x 18 mm MTS 360 SMD rotary position sensor combines a through-shaft design with 360º absolute position feedback.  Capable of 25 million cycles, it relies on Hall effect technology for true non-contacting through-hole shaft sensing.  Standard models feature a 4-mm double D-flat shaft and a SMD footprint compatible with reflow soldering, electrical angles up to 360°, linearity down to ±0.5%, and an operational temp range from -40ºC to +150ºC. Pricing is $8 each/250,000. PIHER INTERNATIONAL CORP., Mundelein, IL. (224) 475-0582.
