Neutral Current Reducer Extends The Life Of Upstream Equipment The I-Trap neutral current reducer cuts three-phase neutral current by a minimum of 50%. According to the company, it may reduce neutral current by up to 92% under certain conditions. This device extends the life of upstream equipment.

The I-Trap current reducer contains no capacitors and requires little or no maintenance. Housed in a NEMA 2 enclosure, this device simplifies the creation of terminal connections. A built-in ammeter provides users with a constant reading of the neutral current flow. According to the company, this current reducer dramatically reduces zero sequence harmonics caused by nonlinear loads.

The I-Trap neutral current reducer is available for use on 208Y/120 four-wire systems with maximum neutral current ratings of 100, 150, 300, and 450 A. The device is UL and CSA certified. For pricing and availability information, contact the company.

T Filter Networks Suppress EMI/RFI At Low And High Frequencies TFA and TFB series filter networks combine filtering capabilities, high stability, and high reliability with a unique symmetrical design that enables filtering of bidirectional signals. According to the company, these networks can replace up to 24 discrete components, generating valuable real estate savings and total component cost advantage.

Each network has a resistance range of 10 Ω to 10 kΩ. Capacitance ranges from 10 to 220 pF. Resistance tolerances of 5%, 10%, and 20% are available. TCR is 250 ppm/°C for each circuit type. Body-style options include wide SOIC, QSOP, and TSSOP. Integrated passive components feature thin-film, silicon-based, multi-element construction through the combination of resistors, resistor-capacitors, or active-passive components.

Low-Pass Filters Perform For Cable Modem Equipment The C5001 and C5003 surface-mount low-pass filters suit cable modem applications. These filters increase the transmission quality and performance of cable communications systems by allowing low-frequency data signals to pass while blocking interfering high-frequency signals. Unwanted frequencies resulting from television and incoming Internet data will not affect transmission of upstream (user-to-Internet) data over standard coaxial cable.

The C5001 suits domestic applications over the 1- to 50-MHz bandwidth. The C5003 filter suits international applications over the 1- to 80-MHz bandwidth. These devices have low passband insertion loss (below 1 dB) to minimize signal loss. They incorporate stopband attenuation above 15 dB to reduce interference. The integrated modules help OEMs reduce product development time, assembly time, and board space. IC-grade transfer mold packaging is used in these products to ensure long-term reliability.

The C5001 and C5003 are available in both tubes and tape-and-reel packaging. Engineering samples are now available. Contact the company for pricing and availability information.

Digital Converters Suit High-Speed Signal Processing Applications Members of the VersaCOMM product family are reconfigurable digital converters that perform digital filtering and frequency conversion for high-speed signal-processing applications. These devices are designed for compatibility with the company's analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters (DACs).

The VersaCOMM digital converters suit macro-, micro-, and pico-cellular basestation designs. They are field-reconfigurable for multistandard signals including 2G and 3G cellular standards. Additional applications include cellular E911 location services, wireless local loop, phased array antennas, digital video, communications test equipment, and ultrasound applications.

This product family includes three digital receive signal processors (RSPs), two digital transmit signal processors (TSPs), and three quadrature digital upconversion/modulators (QDUCs). The RSPs range in sampling speed from 65 Msamples/s (AD6620) to 80 Msamples/s (AD6634). Available speeds for the TSPs include 75 Msamples/s (AD6622) and 104 Msamples/s (AD6623). All QDUCs (AD-9853, AD9856, AD9857) integrate a high-speed direct-digital synthesizer, a high-speed 12- or 14-bit DAC, digital filters, and other DSP functions onto a single chip.

Wirewound Chip Coils Come In 0402 Size Designed for wireless applications, members of the LQW15A series of 0402-sized wirewound chip coils come in 1.5- to 56-nH values. Inductor tolerance is ± 0.3nH for models up to 10 nH, or ±5% for models with 12- to 56-nH tolerance.

Q typically ranges from 30 to 65 at 800 MHz. For a 10-nH model, Q typically is 90 when tested at 1.8 GHz. Self-resonant frequency for this inductance is typically 6.8 GHz. Current ratings vary from 100 to 950 mA.
