About the size of a standard machine vision camera, the unit claims to be easily integrated on the production line and networked throughout the manufacturing plant. It can be used in the automotive industry to locate engine parts for robotic handling, verify the correct assembly of medical test kits, and measure the position of labels on bottles and read 2D and 1D bar codes. Requiring no programming, users can set up vision applications using the product's spreadsheet interface. Ethernet networking capabilities let multiple vision sensors to be linked throughout the factory. Price is $3,995 COGNEX CORPORATION. Chicago, IL. (877) 264-6391.
