For use in notebook and palmtop computers, set top boxes and all handheld equipment where 3.3V operation must interface to 5V systems, the 74LCX16xxx series of 16-bit buffers is fully compatible with LCX families made by Fairchild, Motorola and Toshiba. The buffers operate over a 2.7V to 3.6V supply range with data retention down to 1.5V. Inputs can be safely driven up to 5.5V, making the chips well-suited for bridging the gap between 3.3V and 5V systems. The 74LCX16244T 16-bit, three-state, non-inverting buffer in TSSOP48 provides four output-enable pins, each controlling four of the buffers with full 16-bit operation achieved by tying together the four output-enable pins. PCIbus levels are supplied at 24 mA output current. Features include latch-up performance exceeding 500 mA.
