Boasting of a combination of high efficiency, good audio quality, small size and low-cost/W, the ZXCD1000 Class D switching amplifier controller IC provides an efficiency greater than 90%. Offered in a thermally enhanced, 16-pin package, the amplifier is said to produce less heat than comparable Class A/AB/B linear amplifiers with efficiencies from 50% to 65%.
