According to STMicroelectronics, its new two-axis gyroscope, optimized for optical image stabilization in smartphones and digital still cameras, is 50% smaller in area than the previous generation and 60% smaller in volume. With dimensions of 2.3 by 2.3 by 0.7 mm, the L2G2IS will more easily integrate into the next generation of stabilized camera modules. Features include ±100 dps/±200 dps full-scale range, and 3- and 4-wire SPI interfaces. Integrated low- and high-pass filters have selectable bandwidth. Supply voltage ranges from 1.7 to 3.6 V.
