The USBvision II NT1004, a high-performance, high functionality chip for a wide range of USB video-enhanced products, is said to be the first such device on the market that enables streaming of video, audio and data simultaneously to a computer through the USB port. It also comes with software drivers that enable delivery of top-quality video across multiple platforms, including PC, iMAC and Windows CE handheld products. With its ability to stream video, audio and data, the NT1004 is ideal for PC video cameras, USB PC TVs that synchronize voice and video, and PC TVs with VBI data stream (Teletext and Intercast) or remote control capabilities. The NT1004 offers complete plug and play operation, enables full frame rate motion (30 frames per second) at CIF resolution, and 15 frames per second at VGA resolution, and offers low CPU usage. It comes with a suite of software drivers, including Windows 98/2000/CE, and Mac. The chip is available in a 100-pin TQFP package, is made using 0.35 micron technology, and dissipates only 190 mW at 3.3V.
