Claiming title as the industry's smallest, lowest pin-count video filter amplifier for standard-definition video connections, the MAX9515 measures 1 mm x 1 mm in a four-bump UCSP. It employs the company's proprietary SmartSleep technology, which reduces current consumption to 5 mA in shutdown mode. The chip combines an active-filter stage with a video amplifier to band-limit the signal and set the video-output level to drive a TV connection. Its integrated fifth-order filter features ±1-dB passband flatness up to 9 MHz and 50-dB attenuation at 27 MHz. Additionally, the MAX9515 operates from a 2.7V to 3.6V supply and operates over a temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Prices start at $0.55 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA.
