This TFT-LCD for HDTV applications is some 12" bigger than the company’s previous units, namely 30" (30W) displays. The new TFT-LCD is said to also deliver superior resolution and the widest viewing angle on the market. This 42'' TFT-LCD offers a high resolution of XGA and leverages proprietary Super-In-Plane-Switching (S-IPS) technology. In addition to its large screen size and slim form factor (50.9 mm thickness), the display also offers users a high contrast ratio (500:1). The new TFT-LCD finds use in wall-mounted LCD TVs.
