Full-color, high-resolution and full-motion microdisplay solutions for select military, industrial, and commercial markets is now a reality, thanks to a value-added distribution partnership between Colorado Microdisplay, Inc. (CMD) and Planar Systems Inc. Planer will market, distribute, sell and support CMD's proprietary microdisplay technology, Dynamic Nematic Liquid Crystal on Silicon (DNLCOS) through its network of 22 representative firms in North America and throughout Europe. Planar may also choose to manufacture DNLCOS-based products for its customer's critical needs.The partnership enables Planar to offer a full line of miniature display products to its customers while the DNLCOS complements its existing rugged AMEL products with full-motion, color video performance. Planar launched its MicroBite line of miniature displays last year with its proprietary Active Matrix Electroluminescent technology.
