Manufacturers of digital LCD flat panel monitors can offer a wide range of value-added features while achieving high levels of display quality through an end-to-end, all digital interface with the SiI 851 flat-panel monitor controller. This newest member of the firm's PanelLink family of products combines a PanelLink digital receiver, image processing and a display adaption layer within a single, low-cost controller chip. Because of the interface, users of the chip are assured of compatibility between their monitor product and any computer or other video source that incorporates the DVI specification. The controller was specifically designed to provide a low-cost, easy to incorporate semiconductor solution for designing LCD flat panel displays up to SXGA resolution.
