Suitable for full-sunlight signage and display applications, the OVL series high-brightness LEDs provide viewing angles of 110°/50° plus 100°/60° and are available in 3 mm, 4 mm, and 5 mm through-hole elliptical packages with color diffused lenses. The 5 mm LEDs are available in four colors: blue (470 nm InGaN) with a typical intensity of 500 mcd at a forward current of 20 mA; green (525 nm InGaN) with a typical intensity of 1,750 mcd; red/orange (618 nm AlInGaP) with a typical intensity of 800 mcd; and red (624 nm AlInGaP) with an intensity of 950 mcd. The 4 mm LEDs are available in blue (300 mcd), green (1,200 mcd), and red (400 mcd). Both the 4 mm and 5 mm packages feature viewing angles of 110°/50°. The 3mm components are available in blue (300 mcd), green (1,100 mcd), and red/orange (430 mcd) with viewing angles of 100°/60°. Shared features of OVL series LEDs include a power dissipation of 130 nW, an operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, and compatibility with lead-free soldering processes. Prices start at $0.25 each/10,000. OPTEK TECHNOLOGY INC., Carrollton, TX. (972) 323-2200.
