Designed to meet requirements for short-reach optical interconnection in large-scale computing and communication systems, the 623 family of parallel fiber modules provide short- and medium-reach interconnects in and between network equipment. The modules combine the company's vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) and Smart OSA packaging, claiming to deliver the industry's best price/performance ratio. Options include four-, eight-, and 12-channel transmitter and receivers capable of 2.5 Gb/s per channel for 30-, 20-, and 10-Gb/s transmissions over lengths up to 300m. The modules are available with MPX, MPO/MTP, and MT connector options. Pricing for an MFT62340 12-channel transmitter and MFR62340 receiver is $440 per pair each/10,000.
