The RadioScape RS200 module promises to ease the chores of digital audio broadcast (DAB) receiver designers via a software-defined radio approach with high-volume production capabilities. Teamed with a power supply, case, speakers or headset, antenna, buttons, and a display, the module is said to reduce the design time of a stereo DAB receiver with integral FM and RDS from months to weeks. Addressing the Eureka 147 standard, the module employs a DRE200 chip from Texas Instruments. Features of the module include integrated DAB and FM, operation from a single 5V supply and a compact footprint measuring 44 mm x 110 mm x 15 mm. Depending on volume, prices for the RS200 module start at under $40 each. For more information, contact Nigel Oakley at RADIOSCAPE LTD., London, UK. +44 20 7317 1969.
