In addition to digital audio broadcast (DAB), FM with RDS, LW, MW, and SW, the RS500 radio module is described as being the first such module that can receive Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM). The module employs the company's radiOS architecture that allows the re-use of existing applications and features common to the RS300L DAB/FM module. These include pause, rewind, and recording to MMCs, as well as the ability to display and use Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) data. The RS500 relies on a Texas Instruments TMS320DRM350 DSP-based baseband to support both DRM and DAB standards and to enable uploads of the appropriate software stack and/or applications to change functionality. Modules will be sampling in August with volume production following shortly thereafter. Expected price is under $250 each. RADIOSCAPE LTD., London, UK. +44 (0) 207 224 1586
