Based on a JN5121 IEEE802.15.4-compliant, system-on-chip wireless microcontroller, the company's wireless sensor network starter kit includes sample demonstrations that emphasize the potential for remote monitoring and control applications. One of these demos is a remote sensor monitoring network that reads environmental data from each node and displays results on a PC. The kit contains three battery-powered nodes, each with a JN5121 MCU on a RF module, LEDs, pushbutton switches, temperature, humidity, and light sensors, and an IO expansion port. Two nodes include sub-miniature ceramic antennas while the third node employs a removable antenna. The kit also includes a suite of library functions that provides all the elements for building IEEE802.15.4 products including device drivers and typical sensor and control drivers. The development environment features a complete tool chain and relies on the GNU C-compiler, assembler, debugger, device programmer, and download tools. Single-unit price for the kit is $550.
