Designed to encompass a complete system solution for data acquisition and data and signal processing applications, OmniMeter Benchtop tablet computer system employs a modular hardware and software architecture that offers system designers highly flexible cost/performance tradeoffs. The PDA-like unit is powered by up to a 190-MHz processor and includes 512 Kbytes of flash, 4 Mbytes of DRAM, a dual-slot PCMCIA connector with sealed compartment, a 4-Mbit/s IrDA port, a RS-232 serial port, and on/off, reset and an additional momentary contact switch. It also comes packaged with touch-screen stylus and offers ample space for the addition of a custom daughtercard. Power consumption is as low as 0.5W.
