Adding to the TMS320F280xx digital signal controller (DSC) series, the TMS320F28015/16 controllers offer 60 MHz performance, as do the TMS320F2801/2-60, which are based on the current TMS320F2801/2 devices. All four feature a PWM with 150 ps

Adding to the TMS320F280xx digital signal controller (DSC) series, the TMS320F28015/16 controllers offer 60 MHz performance, as do the TMS320F2801/2-60, which are based on the current TMS320F2801/2 devices. All four feature a PWM with 150 ps resolution that provides 16 bits of accuracy in a 100-kHz control loop and 12 bits at 1.5 MHz, 12 KB of RAM, SCI, SPI, and I2C interfaces, and, depending on the device, 32 KB or 64 KB of flash memory. Additionally, the controllers are AEC Q100 automotive qualified in 100-pin LQFPs. Design support comes by way of the eZdsp development kit, which includes a reference hardware platform with USB connection and the Code Composer Studio integrated development environment. Prices for the DSCs range from $3.25 to $4.75 each/1,000, and the eZdsp kit costs $495. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
