Activating low-resistance power MOSFETs or IGBTs and supporting a potential-free input signal, the ATA6821 single-channel power driver exploits the company's 0.8-µm BCDMOS technology for use in automotive systems and industrial machines. The device relies on a push-pull output stage with an on-resistance of less than 2Ω at 150°C to drive peak currents up to 4A. It accommodates potential-free operation via a second, positive-feedback output. Other features include an input-to-output propagation delay of 50 ns and a slew rate of 12 ns. Samples are available in standard SO14 packages with prices starting at $1.30 each/10,000. ATMEL CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 441-0311.
