Introduced as the most precise monolithic device for low-frequency to 2.5-GHz VSWR, gain, and power measurements, the MAX2016 dual RF-power detector specifies dynamic-range figures of 80 dB at 900 MHz, 67 dB at 1.9 GHz, 64 dB at 2.17 GHz, and 52 dB at 2.5 GHZ. The device operates in temperatures from -20°C to +85°C while maintaining a log conformance of ±3 dB. It can perform as a simple RF-power detector and comparator, complete closed-loop gain and power controller, or as an AGC-loop controller. Typical isolation values are 90 dB and 65 dB for cellular and PCS bands, respectively, and 55 dB for WLAN applications. Offered in a 28-pin, 5 mm x 5 mm TQFN package (lead-free optional), prices start at $9.85 each/1,000. An evaluation kit, the MAX2016EVKIT, is also available. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA.
