Ultra-Small Copper Electrode Chip Caps Target RF And Microwave Markets

Jan. 10, 2013
The CU series of ultra-miniature chip capacitors from AVX specifically suit the RF and microwave markets.

The CU series of ultra-miniature chip capacitors from AVX specifically suit the RF and microwave markets. With copper electrodes in place of standard precious metal electrodes, they offer low equivalent series resistance (ESR), high Q, and tight tolerances for applications including power amplifiers, handheld devices, GPS, vehicle location systems, and matching networks for wireless local-area networks. Available in 01005 and 0201 case sizes, the CU series chip capacitors are composed of C0G (NP0) temperature-compensating EIA Class I ceramic materials and feature lead-free, nickel, and tin-plated terminations. The temperature coefficient of capacitance for the series is 0±30 ppm/°C from –55°C to +125°C. Capacitance value and working voltage vary by case size; 01005 models have capacitance of 0.5 to 6.2 pF and a working voltage of 16 V dc, and the 0201 capacitors have a capacitance of 0.5 to 22 pF and a working voltage of 25 V dc.
