A new easy-to-fabricate electrical-barrier material has been designed with high thermal stability and flexibility. The Voltoid D-225FR achieves superior flame retardance in a wide range of applications including electrical appliances, electronics equipment, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, switches and solenoids. In Underwriters’ Laboratories testing, the material has earned a Flame Class rating of 94 V-O. Voltoid D-225FR is said to exhibit a higher thermal stability in most applications than plastic electrical-barrier materials such as polypropylene. The material can be used in proximity to heat sources and in applications where there is little or no ventilation. Voltoid D-225FR offers a high degree of mechanical flexibility for easy forming and fabricating. It can be die-cut, punched, and shaped into complex parts with angles of 90° or more. The product comes in sheet form, in thicknesses ranging from 0.4 mm to 3.2 mm. INTERFACE SOLUTIONS INC., Lancaster, PA. (800) 942-7538.
