Described as low-cost, high-performance optical encoders, the AME, BME, and LME modular incremental encoders offer a wide range of resolution and bore options and can provide voltage or line driver outputs. Each contains a LED source, an integrated circuit with detectors and circuitry, and an optical disc that rotates between the emitter and detector IC. The two-channel AME series offers resolutions of 100, 200, 256, 360, 400, 500, 1,000, and 1,024 ppr and bore diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 6.35, and 8 mm. The BME series has three channels including an index pulse with available resolutions of 100, 200, 256, 360, 400, 500, 1,000, and 1,024 ppr (1,000 and 1,024 ppr units have two channels and no index), and bore diameters of 3, 4, 5, 6, 6.35, and 8 mm. The three-channel LME series provides resolutions of 1,000, 1,024, 2,000, and 2,048 ppr and bore diameters of 6, 6.35, 8, 10, 14, 19, and 20 mm. Single-unit prices range from under $30 to $50.
